[[Jeroen]:] Hi Brian,
I have the "really swell" recording by the (famous) Belgium clarinettist
Walter Boeykens, made in 1991 on Hamonia Mundi HMC 901356 [with
Bartok=B4s Contrastes, Alban Berg=B4s adagio (2nd movement from
Kammerkonzert) and Three pieces for clarinet by Strawinsky. Merjeta
Korosek violin and Rober Groslot pinao.)].
FYI: the low Eb was (is) played by Mr Boeykens using a (bit of)
garden-hose put in the belly a few bars before those Eb=B4s! Not "the
orginalfassung", but it works and ( I know this as a player myself) the
public loves it when putting it in and out theateratically (new
English)!
All the best,
Jeroen T. Salm
