Yes, the instrument in question was both sharper and shorter. Of course,
not all HP instruments are so noted (it would be like finding ancient coins
marked B.C.). And after some time (in the 1930's or so), they stopped
marking the LP instruments, too, since it was by then assumed that all new
instruments WERE Low Pitch. Since the instrument in question is VISUALLY
shorter, though, it is unlikely that it is simply a High Pitch Bb clarinet.
