When I auditioned for the Louisiana Youth Orchestra in October, I had no
idea what to audition on. There were 3 clarinet seats open, I didn't know
how many players were auditioning, or their calibre. I played this year's
All-State audition material - from H. Voxman's Selected Studies (Rubank)
pg. 16 last 11 measures (eighth note = 80)
pg. 35 first 16 measures (quarter note = 92)
Chromatic Scale - E1 to G4 in 16th-note triplets (eighth note = 120)
And was asked to play A concert and D concert scales - was prepared to play
all 12 all octaves.
I did make it this year - 3rd chair; for next year's auditions, I'm playing
Weber's Concerto No. 2 - Polacca.
Good luck to you!
-Amanda
