It would seem that you have clarified a great deal in your responses to
further posts. Since you actually have no need of this other
individual's questionable services, and you already have a helpful band
director as well as a teacher you will be continuing with after the
audition, it would appear you are set for the moment.

Only one other thing - why is it that arrogant twits like the person you
describe continue to teach, and folks who would give anything for an
opportunity to do so, with the proper awareness of what they can and
cannot do, along with decent skills with people, cannot get jobs? I
suppose this rhetorical question should be filed in the same folder with
the rhetorical question: Why do repeat offenders of certain types we
won't discuss on a family - oriented forum continue to teach while
others are dismissed for superficial problems that could be remedied
with proper mentoring? Anyway, enough of my ranting. I prefer not to
rant here. It's not fun. And I'm not good at it.

Happy Holidays Rebecca,
Kindest regards,
Patricia Smith
