My wife is a professional mezzo-soprano, a certified voice therapist and
principal teacher of voice at a music school. Once she realized how
similar the breathing and phrasing demands of woodwinds and voice are, we
began to trade practice tips. Sometimes "you're right dear" is more than
just a phrase to get her out of my line of sight of the TV.
