Which Japanese clarinet choir played it, does anyone know their
website/email address?

Their name was "Tokyo Clarinet Philharmony", Masatake Kaihoki conductor.
The arranger was S. Kobayashi.

When I asked David Etheridge back in the year 2000, he said that the
choir didn't have a web page and that communication with them had been
especially difficult because translators were required.

Just now I found a web page with the names of half-a-dozen clarinet
choirs. I don't know why my previous searches didn't produce this
list:

By the way, when I asked somebody at ClarinetFest 2000 why such a fine
group of musicians (the ladies played in chiffon pastel ball gowns of
many colors, it was a visual treat as well as the finest music)....
why they had been scheduled for Sunday morning with a minimal audience
despite the tremendous expense of bringing 30 or so clarinetists +
instruments from Japan, I was told that all of the members have 9-5 day
jobs, and because of their work ethic, they climbed onto a plane
Saturday morning or afternoon (time zones?), flew overnight, played
Sunday morning, and were back on the plane by noon Sunday in order to be
at work again on Monday morning.

If this is accurate, that's true dedication!

Cheers,
Bill
