Subj: [kl] Mezzo soprano pieces
Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 20:10:26 -0500

Thanks, Kelly, Arturo and Clare, for your recommendations and comments
on the pieces by Schubert ("Romanze"), Cooke ("Three Songs of
Innocence") and Amy. I've been talked out of the Amy piece by, of all
people, a salesperson at Luybens Music. But that same person pointed me
toward several other chamber works involving mezzo soprano, one of which
just arrived today: "Three Songs from William Shakespeare", by
Stavinsky. If anyone is thinking of purchasing this, be warned that it
comes in two volumes, both of which are needed: (1) Vocal Score and (2)
Parts. Each volume costs around $20. (If I had it to do over, I
wouldn't.)
