Yes, every leak an instrument has certainly is a problem. When the leak is
high, such as the one you noticed on your horn, the result is usually
"jumping the octave." What exactly is happening when you have "trouble
playing it?" Most repair shops only see an alto clar once every 5 years!
When choosing a repair technician for an uncommon horn, choose carefully.
Find a tech who can play alto clar well enough to play test it accurately,
not just to see if it will make a sound.
