Dear Peter,
I wouldn't be afraid to try different reeds other than Vandoren. You
might end up with some reeds that will play. The other day I found a box
of Rico "Evolution" #3 reeds in an old case that I had forgotten about.
It was one of those days when none of my students had a reed they could
play on. They made my teaching day a whole lot better. Lately I have
been using Gonzalez # 3 1/4, and I love them. Sometimes I use Mozart #3
(from the same company, the Davie Cane Co) and they are terrific. I must
have tried Zondas on a bad day, way back when. ANNIE
