Richard
I have looked at the Amy (as a singer, rather than as a clarinettist).
I thought it was a good piece. It goes up to A (a major 3rd higher than
you specify), but the context is not terribly demanding. This note (whic=
h
from memory only appears once) would probably be the least of your singer=
?s
worries. I assume from the rest of your list that your vocalist is comfo=
rtable
singing contemporary music, and prepared to make some funny noises! From=
a purely practical point of view, the score is written for mezzo (in C)
and clarinet in A, and transposing it on the fly (for pitch purposes) wou=
ld
be a tall order. In order to make any sense of it, I had to write it out=
.
FWIW, to make ?d?un Destastre Obscure? easier to programme, Amy used simi=
lar
thematic material in another piece, ?Apres un Destastre Obscure?, scored
for the same forces as Pierrot Lunaire.
