I'm playing about 5 years, but using a Vandoren 2 1/2 with a B45 it's
impossible for me.
Only a used 1 Vandoren is agreeable.

I had less severe problems with B45 (squeeks and wobbly intonation) and
Vandoren's other mouthpieces siuch as 5RV and their M series.
Eventually my teacher made her own decision to guide all of her students
(including herself for her professional playing) away from Vandoren. I
accepted her advice, and this made an overnight change in my ease of
playing.

I settled on Clark Fobes's "Nova", which has been as solid as a rock for
me --- without costing an immense amount. Muncy sells them at
www.muncywinds.com and Clark has his own web page at
http://www.clarkwfobes.com

Muncy allows you to buy three at a time, and to keep the one you like
best while returning the other two, for a small service charge +
shipping costs.

Cheers,
Bill
