CURRICULUM GUIDE WRITER NEEDED FOR INNER-CITY CLARINET
PROGRAM "CULTURALLY SOUND"

Dear Clarinet List:

In 2001, I implemented a program in Harlem, NY and
East Brooklyn, NY called "Culturally Sound" This
program was designed last year to enhance the young
inner-city clarinetist's experience in hopes of
interesting them enough in the instrument to pursue
college study, or a professional career in music.
This year, I have chosen to include on the repertoire
of Black composer, old and new. I have been in
contact with several composers who have contributed
works to my program. It is anticipated that this
program will culminate in May or early June with a
performance of these composers by me with the students
involved.

I am seeking the assistance of someone who is
experienced with writing student curriculum guides.
Recently I had surgery and was unable to complete this
leg of the project for the Spring. I have all of the
information of composers, clarinet repertoire, and how
the guide would be put together. However I would like
to speak further with someone who is good with putting
together a comprehensive guide for students from age
11-18 that can include games, exercises, and even
references to other genres such as hip-hop, jazz, or
R&B. I am also trying to implement non-musical
elements in the student's lives such as self-respect,
education, and confidence.

If anyone here is interested, please contact me at
stacy-michelle@-----.com or if you know someone
who is interested, please pass this on to them. Also,
please include your PROJECT rate for a February 1st
deadline. Thank you in advanced.

FUNDING FOR "CULTURALLY SOUND" IS SPONSORED IN PART BY
THE INTERNATIONAL CLARINET ASSOCIATION
