I'll second the Regal Queens recommendation. Also the Reeds Australia
Vintage and XL. I found both brands to be superior to Vandoren in
consistency, initial playability (not needing to be adjusted beyond
initial treatment) and longevity. I mostly plan on Reeds Australia now
because the Woodwind and Brasswind stopped carrying Regal Queens.

Looks like Weiner is getting my business now... Thanks for posting the
link, I didn't realize how extensive their reed selection was.
