The V12s Van Dorens have been consistently excellent for me with a 5RVLyre
mouthpiece. Outstanding, actually. Unbelievable. I remember in the 70's when
I hardly could find one good reed out of a box. Now about 75% play well
enough to practice with, and 1 out of 3 are real keepers.
Even those that were stuffy could be enhanced with some light sanding, but I
have found fixing reeds to shorten their lives.
