Don't worry, I wasn't offended, I was just... confused by the statement.
But it's cool that you've discovered, on your own, the way much of klezmer
harmony is built.

And I'm actually hoping to get a recording system of some sort so I can do
exactly the types of things you were doing (though with klezmer melodies
that I already know). In a few months, my guitar and bass playing should
be up to a level that I can accompany myself in a multi-track recording.
Look for the first pressing of my debut CD in the summer/fall of 2003. :-)

Also, if you're ever interested in really learning about klezmer, if you
don't already have it, you should pick up a copy of "The Compleat Klezmer"
by Henry Sapoznik. Tara.com has it, and it's available with a CD of
recordings from the early 20th century. It has, in addition to several
transcriptions, a good technical section written by Pete Sokolow which
provides a necessary foundation for any aspiring klezmorim.
