We are doing Footlose this year. They tell me that I have to play, but as
of right now I am planning on going to camp for both sessions. That will
give my friend a chance to play, I guess. She's been wanting to for years.
I'm rethinking though. I am tempted to do it. I can't think of a good
reason not too except I want to go to camp for both sessions, and I know I
can't afford both. I'm tring to get my mom to pay for one session if I can
pay the other.

I did "Footloose" last spring. There is a single reed book, with flute,
clarinet, alto, and tenor sax. We played it as a split book, with one
person playing flute and clarinet, and I played the sax parts. I could
have handled the clarinet parts easily, but the flute parts would have been
difficult, whereas she could do the flute and clarinet parts OK but not the
saxes. Be advised that the tenor part has a couple of open improv solos in
it. I may still have copies of what I wrote if you need them.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
