Each finger has (except the thumb, which has one) Two tendons. The
profunda tendon bends the last joint, and the sublimis tendon bends the
middle joint. The sublimis tendon in many people is small and
rudimentary, and therefoe the little finger is the weakest of all the
fingers. And if you are right handed, the left little finger is weakest.
The is why it is difficult to do trills with the left little finger. If
the muscles of the forearm (where the tendons arise) are overused, and
are not conditioned, they can cramp. Yes, strengthening exercises of the
hand and forearm cam improve the situation. Mark
