The Hailstork Clarinet/Piano piece is Simple Caprice (Oh- don't let that
fool you- NOT SIMPLE!!!) The name comes from a Langston Hughes character.
It utilizes extended techniques (multiphonics, improvization, teeth on
reed....) He has a Viola sonata that has (I believe) been arranged for
clarinet- if not by him then with his blessing. He also has a solo
clarinet piece- 3 smiles for Tracey. Not as hard. I'm not sure if that is
self-published or not (I can check if anyone needs to know). I think
Southern has most of his instrumental stuff. (But, as you know, the memory
is the second thing to go....)
Take Care,
Anne
