Under "seismic instruments," he mentions
Contrabass Sarrusophone
...and I HAVE seen and heard one. It's a hybrid (that's the nice
word)
between a sax and a contrabassoon. There are alternative
mouthpieces (a
gigantic double reed or a small single reed mouthpiece). It
produces a
fearfully god-awful nasty sound, even when played badly.
