Subj: [kl] Seeking Klarinet list members in Loma Linda area
Date: Fri, 29 Nov 2002 23:21:21 -0500

My husband Ken will be going to Loma Linda, California, for treatment of
prostate cancer. He'll be there for about 9 weeks beginning next week,
and I'll be with him for 3 of those weeks (the first week of December
and the two weeks of the Christmas/New Year's holiday). If there are
any Klarinet list members from the area (Loma Linda, Colton, San
Bernadino, Redlands, etc.), I'd love to hear from you! Lurkers are
okay, returning and recovering clarinetists no problem, people who have
played transcriptions will not be spurned! (Truth in advertising
requires that I confess that I have made my own transcription of an Amy
Beach piece--what else is to be done, since Mrs. Beach had the
misfortune to die before composing her masterworks for clarinet. . . but
please don't tell Dan L.) Oh, and I'm still looking for that used
Basset Horn to beg, borrow, steal, or even buy (preferably an older,
narrow-bore Selmer like the one I tried recently that played so sweetly
and so easily when I used the same mouthpiece I use on my Bb and A
clarinets), so if someone in the Loma Linda area is looking to unload an
old basset, I'm your buyer!

Hoping to hear from the California Clarinet Contingent,

Nancy
