Off topic for only one paragraph.....

It's interesting to hear that the same thing happens in other countries,
Tony. I thought this was an uniquely American experience. It is
particularly noticeable in the U.S. when a person's medical expenses
reach the policy's 'expense cap' and now the person must pay the entire
cost him/herself. The first time my family reached the cap, I didn't
bother to show my card. Why bother? I was required to pay the entire
cost anyway. The bookkeeper blinked her eyes and said, "Give me your
card, please." When I did, the computer reduced the cost by 75%, but
it printed out that I must pay 100% of the remaining cost. Same
treatment or medicine, same doctor or pharmacy or hospital, but the cost
drops at least 50%-75%, and as much as 90% in a few cases, when you show
your insurance card, even though the insurance company is paying
nothing. That is, the insurance premium is paying for their purchasing
power as much as it is paying for the medical treatment.

.....But getting back on topic........

<><> I`ve been asked to join a new clarinet choir

The Japanese clarinet choir that performed "Pictures At An Exhibition"
during ClarinetFest 2000 knocked my socks off.

[TALK about how transcriptions can be magnificent and also 100%
respectful of the music, by the way !!!]

This was the only time that I have ever heard an orchestra-sized
clarinet choir. I've searched several times for orchestra-sized
clarinet choir recordings, but so far I haven't found one. They must
exist, but the search engines at music stores don't recognize "clarinet
choir" as an instrument.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Bill
