I won`t be playing again till January. My treatment starts next week, and
I`ll be glad just to get this damned temporary plate out of my mouth, which
I`ve had in for 6 months, and get the *crows* in instead! My treatment will
only cost £350, as I`ve decided to go for this, the National Health
treatment, as opposed to £950 private - with the same dentist, as I`m told
that they are both guarranteed for only the same period of time - 10 years.
I`m 60 now, and if I can get at least 10 years clarinet use out of them, at
least without any discomfort, I will be satisfied.

I`ve been asked to join a new clarinet choir forming in Ealing, West London.
The first meeting will be in January, so I hope I will be *up and running*
by then. It is hoped to put on about 4 concerts a year. I`ve never really
fancied clarinets in unison. I used to get quite bored with the forces
military band clarinet sound. But there are some quite interesting works and
arrangements these days which can make clarinets sound fun, and as I think
my days of principal with all the world`s top orchestras` are on the wane,
:<) I will give this choir a go. Hopefully too, I`ll be able to take some of
my own pieces along. Shameless plug coming up -
http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/showscore.pl?scoreid=9592
for those of you with the Scorch facility to hear (and see) the music.

I hope you`re well Annie, (and family too), and I hope Martin`s preparation
for his forthcoming new C.D. is coming along fine. He mentioned that he had
a bassett clarinet sorting session with Thea King which was apparently
wonderful. She sorted mouthpieces and barrels for him which give him
wonderful intonation over all registers. He`s recording The Mozart and the
Weber quintets with quite an eminent string quartet - can`t think which one
at this moment, and I can`t remember if there`s any other music being
recorded either,
but I`m sure he`ll see this and let you know. The recording
takes place early in the new year. So do reserve your copy NOW. Do I get 10%
Martin for this early plug?

Sorry I haven`t posted recently, but I`ve been busy with trying to get
SibeliusMusic to modernise and update their composers site.
I also have to get in touch with Walter Grabner also. He`ll think I`m a
$#**!
Best,
Tony W.
