I owned a Jean Cartier "5 Star Professional" that came with a Jean Cartier
"Chedeville" mouthpiece. It was a fine jazz clarinet with a big sound that I
loved and compared favourably with Selmers and and Leblanc big-bore
clarinets. I do not think these are student clarinets; actually it makes a
good collectors item; unfortunately I had to sell mine for personal reasons.
I notice that many are bound to the 3 main name brand clarinets and tend to
derogatively refer to many old boutique instruments as "stencil" brands and
so on...
