Neil,
To hear the CD recordings will have your jaw on the floor.
The piece that you heard the sample of double tonguing also has triple
tonguing and you could literally set a metronome to it.
It was recorded, I believe, when he was 16 or 17 years old!!!!!
There are a couple of pieces that he plays on Fluegal Horn on that same CD
that are so beautiful that they make you want to cry.
One of his best CD's is the "Concertos for Trumpet". That is the one with
the double and triple tonguing which is from a transcription that his father
did on a cello concerto by Haydn.
I encourage all of you to buy it as it will set a new standard for
musicality in the way that he can sing through his horn. You will not be
disappointed.

<< 'Kid can play, no question. Whew, what a double-tongue! Heck, just the
quality of articulation in general...as if it isn't even there, and all you
hear is the music being made. There are sound samples at the link that Tom
cites. Take a listen. It's a pleasure. Thanks, Tom!
