We in West Michigan (and even in East Wisconsin) are blessed with the radio
station of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, WBLU-FM 90.3, in the Muskegon area, and
WBLU-FM 88.9 in Grand Rapids. Programming includes an eclectic mix of
orchestral and chamber music of all periods. As is true of many PBS
stations, the Metropolitan Opera may be heard each Saturday. Choral and
organ music are presented on Sunday mornings. In addition to the expected
major orchestra performances and broadcasts, West Shore Symphony Orchestra
or the Grand Rapids Symphony are often heard during Sunday, 3pm broadcasts.
(Incidentally, those of you who haven't yet had the opportunity to hear
Susanna Dennis, GRSO principal clarinet, are missing an important example in
your clarinet tone catalogue...) After 10pm, an equally eclectic mix of jazz
styles is presented. ...And much more...

Fund raising is minimal, due to tremendous listener support, and when it
does happen, we are treated to the sometimes quirky, but always delightful
personalities of "old favorite" announcers. I sometime wonder how the
station has managed to keep them so long... whatever the answer, I, for one,
really appreciate them!
