Excellent review, Tom. What a treat to hear Sabine Meyer live. As Tom said,
she and the other two musicians, Gidon Kemer and Oleg Maisenberg also were
incredible. I was also intrigued at the bowing technique used by Gidon
Kemerin in the Ravel. The pianist, Oleg Maisenberg played with amazing
sensitively. The Berg has never been a favorite piece of mine, but Sabine
made me like it more even though it will still never be on my "all time
favorites" list. I appreciate you getting me into the private reception. I
think Sabine said that she will be taking Julian Bliss on as a student next
semester. She was very gracious and even though she was obviously tired, she
still came to the reception and was very warm and cordial. I am really glad
I got to hear this truly great concert of contemporary masters performed by
masters of their instruments.
