Kimberly, there are two sides to your question.

One side is: Some of the folks on this list resent being asked to do a
student's assignment for them. Probably part of your teacher's intent
was to give you practice in doing research --- how to use the library
and periodicals, how to search creatively by reading CD liners and
introductions that appear on sheet music, and so forth.

The other side is: What's wrong with doing your research by talking with
people on the Internet or face-to-face?

The bottom line is that using libraries and developing creative sources
of written information is where many students are weak. Hence some of
us are reluctant to answer your question directly. We think that you
should do the work yourself.

**However**, having said this, I will tell you that I was able to answer
most of your questions by going to Google and doing an appropriate
search. Probably I could've found all the answers if I had been
willing to do enough reading.

Unfortunately, "salle" is the French word for "hall" or "room". You'll
need to sort through a number of hits about Poulenc being performed in
this-or-that "salle". But this is part of research skills also. How
can you avoid the "hall" meaning of "salle" while you search? Do you
have the patience to sort through extraneous material in order to find
the particular information that you need?

Cheers and good luck,
Bill
