Subject: [kl] teaching clarinet

Chances are, if she just started band, she is totally lost and you will
start from scratch. Reading the notes, findind the notes on her horn,
quarter notes-half notes, the whole nine yards. If it is like our band that
has late starters, the band director has his/her hands full and this girl
will absolutely lost till someone helps her get caught up. Before my work
schedule changed, I used to go over to the school and help these kids. Most
were very receptive and learned enough to keep an interest in band. A couple
didn't do anything and eventually quit. But, its always worth a try.
