For clarinet tone quality metaphors, how about:
e-e-e-e (long)

u-u-u-u (Latin)
awww
ahhhhh
errrrr
echhh
ewe
uhhhh
etc., etc.
Do any of the above sounds and/or others remind you of your tone? Which
others if not those?
The use of these or similar phonograms could help resolve the tremendous
difficulties inherent in the verbal description of a non-verbal phenomenon.
