That's not correct. Tony was replying to my wondering why he was making a
generalization about his poor American student. (My point was that if he
could make such a generalizations about Americans, we could make a
generalization about 'dark.'

Anyhow, in my book, the matter is closed and he stands as tall as ever (to
mix metaphors).
