One benefit (imo) of the 'open-G-in-a-mirror' exercise that I posted
earlier has more to do with 'voluntary' vs.'involuntary' movements than
it does with finger positions.

The point is that the original post about 'slamming' suggested that the
action was involuntary. The 'open-G-in-a-mirror' exercise forces you
to fight any involuntary movement, no matter what the movement happens
to be, and this opens up new channels in your.... mind, nervous system,
or whatever.
