I have also got a couple of good deals from e-bay, but like many others have
posted, you need to know a lot about the type of item you are buying and ask
lots of questions. I also got a lamp base for $25.00 that was "grandfathers
clarinet that he loved so much." The seller actually offered to take it back
if it wasn't all that I thought it would be. They didn't seem to know much
about clarinets, but they knew it had to be a wonderful old clrinet because
grandfather loved it so much. I obviously didn't ask enough questions and I
didn't have the heart to send the piece of junk back, so grandfathers
clarinet will make a nice Christmas present for one of my former students
after I make it into a lamp. Grandfathers clarinet will be getting it's
proper use.
