Some people don't see that making the sort of wise distinction Jeremy
has made whenever the relevant confusion surfaces is closely connected
to wisdom about playing music, and therefore actually highly
appropriate.

They're the sort of people who might either think that saying, "the word
"nigger" is offensive to some people", is offensive -- or alternatively
that it wouldn't offensive to *use* the word "nigger", as opposed to
*mentioning* it, in the first place (less likely nowadays, of course).

Some people go on making the mistake I described myself making in:
