Speaking of Parades,

The strangest parade I ever marched in while in the military was in Belgium.

I don't remember the name of the town, but I think it was Mons where SHAPE
(Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) headquarters is located.

Once a year, the fountain in the town square spews beer for 24 hours to
celebrate who knows what.

Our military band marched in a parade that day, and the entire parade would
stop about ever two blocks and everyone that could would squeeze into the
nearest bar for a cold one.

After about 20 minutes, the parade would continue.

Needless to say, we weren't marching too straight by the finish.
