Given your elegant answer, I think it safe that we can generalize the
characteristics of "dark." Perhaps even apply it to your generalization . .

My view of the English has been framed by that fabulously historically
accurate film, "The Patriot" starring Mel Gibson. I even took three of my
English pals to see it one evening. I can't understand why they found it at
all objectionable.
