I imagine you could do the same thing with a Tablet PC. Check out

Most of these are now getting thin enough that it would fit on a normal
stand. You could load your favorite notation program or PDF viewer and
voila! I believe these are still in the $2000 range but that is
comparable to the cost of a notebook computer, without a keyboard. I
believe these have USB ports so you would be able to hook up just about
any kind of external device you'd want.
