The music I received is for A/Bb clarinets only. Looking through it, I
wondered why some of it wasn't written for C clarinet (which I have and
love to play). I hate transposing so much that I have clarinets in just
about every key in which they are made . I'm not rich, but I am admittedly
lazy (not too - ,just a little uncomfortable playing when I don't have to
transpose) so I parted with the money rather than be too embarrassed to
stumble through music and submit to the wrath of nasty music directors.

Also, there are no titles above the numbers - just numbers themselves. I
don't know where the breaks are for the different acts. I have very little
opera experience but this doesn't look like any musical theatre music that
I have ever played (and I have a good deal of experience with that). The
music itself doesn't look that demanding, just busy. Am I right on that
score?

Last year was my first stab at opera. We presented "Orpheus In The
Underworld". I learned a lot and will be much better prepared this time
around. We have one rehearsal for the orchestra alone and a rehearsal with
the entire company. I don't know the story behind this opera either. I am
assuming this is light opera. Thanks a bunch for any knowledge you send my
way.
