I suspect that Forest is right. The only place I play my A is in the
orchestra and occasionally if I am playing in a small ensemble that requires
its use. The Eb and C get the most use with the Bb closely following them.

I think this is essentially what Dan was getting at with his response. I
don't think he was inferring that I was stupid in my remarks, only that he
had a different opinion concerning my observations and that he had a
different way of stating that opinion. And he has a very valid point about
comparisons. Haven't we spent eons discussing the pros and cons of
different instruments, reeds, set-ups, etc.?
