Avrahm Galper's "Tone, Technique & Staccato" has a lot of exercises and
occasional comments about techniques and goals.

In fact, his entire "Clarinet Method" series is the one that clicks best
with me --- so long as you're willing to ask yourself along the way:
"Why did he include this exercise? What is he trying to show me?",
rather than simply saying to yourself: "Oh, here's another scale (triad)
(whatever). Well, I may as well practice it."
