I'll catch a re-run eventually.

Okay, but I want to say that the episode is especially interesting (to
me) because of the clarinet/guitar/voice at the episode's conclusion.

I should preface this by saying that there are _SEVERE_ errors in show.
The sound track continues to play clarinet solo for half-a-second after
Monk removes the instrument from his mouth, and so forth. Also, my
tape was old and tired, and some measures have vibrato that are
obviously created by the worn tape, not intended by whoever played
off-camera.

Nevertheless, the guitar and clarinet played an unusual mix of
counterpoint rhythms --- which may have been created by bad mixing of
two tracks, but it was an effect that I liked and may try to recreate.

Also, in your role as movie critic, the episode's music is a superior
blend of comedy and.... pathos ??

It begins as simple comedy when Willie hands Monk a clarinet, and Willie
begins to play his guitar. Monk can't bring himself to touch his lips
to someone else's mouthpiece. Monk's body language as he tries to
resolve the conflict (between wanting to play with Willie vs. putting
the 'germ laden' mouthpiece in his mouth) is a gut-buster. But at the
end, Monk plays..... well, I won't spoil it.

Cheers,
Bill
