I should be so lucky! I'm afraid the Kennedy Center is only in my dreams.
The opera is being performed here at the college where I work and is
directed by Doug Byerly. Last year we did "Orpheus in the Underworld" and I
think we had people from the Washington Opera perform. I'd have to get a
program and look to be sure though. Last year was the first time I had done
any opera work and it was an eye opener and great fun. I've done a lot of
pit work and opera is a little bit like that, but you can't understand
what's being sung, so if someone up there makes a mistake you better hope
the music director knows what's going on. Opera is one place where three
eyes would be handy - two for the music and one for the director.

Who is performing the Opera? For four years, I served on the staff of The
Washington Opera. Did you play in the Kennedy Center Orchestra?
