Hi,

For the same results as the dentist made piece, but for 1/600th the
price, go to your local sporting goods store. Find the mouthguards that
form fit (you drop them in boiling water for about 10 seconds, then put in
your mouth to fit them to your teeth), probably in the soccer or football
sections. Go home, and cut down the mouthguard into smaller pieces (about
1 inch by 1/2 inch, whatever works for your mouth), and custom fit them by
dropping in boiling water then placing over your lower teeth.

I bought one mouthguard about ten years ago, and made about 5-7 teeth
covers from it. The last one is finally breaking down now (most were lost,
I've been playing on this one for at least six years), so I bought another
mouthguard, for $3.50, a couple weeks ago. They're probably less expensive
wherever you are, as this was purchased in Manhattan.

I came to this idea after my hs band director showed me the dentist made
one he had, which he paid about $300 for, at least 15-20 years ago. He was
shocked that I made ones, nearly identical, for under $.50 each.
