Let me preface this next posting with the fact that I use the
M15 on my Bb/A setup, and I use Clark Fobes's (from the Klarinet
list here) San Francisco mouthpieces on my C and Eb clarinets...

I use a Vandoren Optimum ligature on my Bb/A setup and my Eb
setup when I finally got tired of the BG and Rovner ligatures
popping off when switching from Bb to A and vice versa. I still
use a BG on my C Clarinet, to give LESS focus to the already
bright sound.

The reeds I usually use are the V12s, although I am still
experimenting with the Gonzalez reeds. At first, I found them
colorless, but VERY stable. I have now gotten a better hang of
finding the reeds that work for me out of a box of Gonzalez
reeds, so I am using them also.

5RV mouthpiece *without* the lyre after it? Doesn't work for me
at all, and my students that have started with me while using a
5RV generally find that they like the M15, M13, and 5RV Lyre
better if they look for a new mouthpiece. (I only switch them if
they are having problems producing sound or articulation. Don't
fix what isn't broken.)

I can usually play on 90% of reeds that come out of a box of
V12s and Gonzalez, since the M15 is NOT very picky for reeds
(for me.) On the flip side of that, I usually only PLAY on only
30-40% of those reeds that will work for sound, because *I* am
choosy about the response.

I will be trying out a new mouthpiece myself very soon, as I am
waiting on the production of Chris Hill's (also from the
Klarinet list here) new mouthpieces on the NEW Chedeville type
blanks he and Guy Chadash have jointly developed. They are
REALLY something special! He can do different facings on them
(and does) but the usualy facings are medium to closed, unless
you ask for something else. The prototypes I tried immediately
caught me offguard for the depth they put in my sound, and I am
eagerly awaiting the new production models. I'll give an update
if I switch after trying the new models coming out.
