I call my clarinets George. Of course, I call everything George. My
computer is George. My stenograph is George. Both the TV and the satellite
system are George, especially if I can't find the remote, which makes it a
bit confusing. if I ask someone to change the channel for me. I even call
my grandchildren's friends George: "Would you get George out of the
refrigerator! He's gone through three meals this afternoon already."

And I shouldn't worry about being from West Virginia. My family came from
West Virginia (both sides) to Tennessee four generations ago. I make no
claims to excessive brilliance, but I have managed to survive nine years of
college. I've lived in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Illinois, and
California and found there seems to be plenty of stupid that's been shared
out.
