It's not a gender breakdown, as much as it is a personality-type
breakdown. When I was training to be an accountant (auditor), during firm
orientation (with one of the "Big 5" firms), we did a billion and one
personality classification tests, and discussed the results, under the
guise of learning how to work with different types of people. One of the
dichotomies (I think it was the Feeling/Thinking categories one on the
Meyers-Briggs test, but I'm not positive) did basically separate those who
name inanimate objects (cars, instruments, etc.) and those who don't
(respectively).
