But as a musician from WV, Rebecca, you are actually in esteemed
company: Composer George Crumb is from West Virginia, and the
"mystical" influence his roots had upon his music is significant.

No need to let yourself (or others, especially those living elsewhere)
negatively define your home or heritage.
