A little while back my alto clarinet cracked where the register key hole is.
There was no problems with it up until today. (I had a dream last night that
the entire top joint split in half and fell apart then burned to dust...)
Anyway, I got it out and started playing it. When I got down to low C, it
became very hard to play. I'm assuming the crack is the problem, but could
anything else be wrong?

It is pretty obvious that the crack is the problem, but I am trying to deny
it to myself.

The dreams about my alto clarinet breaking are nothing new. I've been having
them since I got it. Most of the time I am at some kind of recital or
audition and it just kind of crumbles to pieces in my hands. Sometimes the
school catches on fire and I am trying to get to the bandroom to rescue it
and the bandroom door is locked and the ceiling falls in and I am trapped...

I think that may be more than anyone needed to know. LOL!
