[ Coraggio.... I've never thought about the etymological root of
"courage". I wonder if "incorrigible" comes from the same root? ]

You *will* receive a prompt reply --- immediately after I keep a promise
about doing some gardening. For the last few minutes, I've been
looking at the mechanism and wondering why I couldn't do it myself.

I notice that my register key has a small dimple on the under side,
about halfway between the pad cup and the pivot. This dimple does not
make contact with the joint's body, and therefore I assume it doesn't
control the height of anything. There is a small hole in the joint,
directly under the dimple, but the hole does not appear to go completely
through the body. Is this dimple-and-hole an aid to assembly at the
factory, or does it actually do something for the sound?

Thanks,
Bill
