In the Nashville newspaper, there's an article, "Stones sideman sues
Nashville dentist". The basis of it involves a tenor sax player, Bobby
Keys, who sued a dentist for putting on crows that wouldn't stay on and
affecting his ability to play. The paper reports: "Grissom, in yesterday's
interview, also raised questions about whether Keys was biting too hard on a
piece stuck on the end of his instrument, called a setup, which causes
saxophones to make noise." I've never played this type of music, but I
wonder are they talking about the mouthpiece, ligature, and reed as "a
setup" or is there something else that sticks on the end of the instrument
that "causes saxophones to make noise"? <d,r,g>
