Gulp! You are correct. Thank you.

Since funding for many aspects of education is strained in Calfiornia, I
don't want to be belligerently skeptical; but as a parent, I've
responded to requests that I stand up at meetings in defense of music
education (and in defense of librarians, whom staff also asked the
school board for permission to dismiss at one point). Therefore, as
several people here have suggested, I should have a bit more knowledge
about the details. How many teachers & instruments and what class
sizes does the money pay for?

The only way to find out is to ask around.

Henrik, in order to broaden everyone's understanding, would you be
willing to post a few paragraphs about elementary and secondary music
education in your part of the world? I assume that "se" in your email
address means that you live in Sweden?

Cheers,
Bill, the Somewhat Embarrassed
